Welcome to Soaked In Notes!

If you like Nirvana or lived through the 90’s, you might get the reference I’m making with my blog title and tagline. If neither of those are true, my blog title refers to a line in the song “Come As You Are” by Nirvana, where Kurt sings “Come doused in mud, soaked in bleach…,” which I really like. However, I can’t pretend I came up with the title. My friend Taryn did, after suggesting I use a Nirvana song title to create my blog name. I asked her for help, and she came up with four puns based onΒ Smells Like Teen Spirit, and three other “Soaked in ____” puns. If you can’t tell we both really like Nirvana πŸ™‚ Also, if you haven’t heard the song before, you are now required to go listen to it.

The blog title refers to musical notes, as well as the notes in reading and writing, better known as words. Words and notes do the same thing, just for different medias of art. They both guide you through a piece of work. Music, reading and writing are central parts of my life, and I wanted to work that into the title. The tagline, (“come as you are”) which is just the title of the song, I wanted to use because I, like Kurt, think of myself as an accepting person and want to know people for who they really are. I don’t like when people pretend to be someone they’re not. That’s the deep explanation. The simple one is the title was based on the song, so I made the song the tagline. Both are true.

On this blog, I’ll be posting about books, music, TV shows and things in my life I feel the need to write about. I hope you like it here!
